Club confirms Riewoldt scuffle
The St Kilda nude photograph scandal has taken another turn, with skipper Nick Riewoldt involved in a scuffle after being taunted by two men brandishing the picture on a mobile phone.
St Kilda have confirmed Riewoldt was confronted in an incident outside a South Melbourne takeaway restaurant on Wednesday night.
Melbourne newspaper The Age reported the AFL star had his shirt ripped.
"St Kilda Football Club can confirm that Nick Riewoldt was verbally harassed last night by people unknown to him while collecting take-away dinner in South Melbourne," the club said in a statement.
"There has been no police involvement."
A Victoria Police spokesman said police were aware of an alleged assault, however no formal complaint had been made.
Riewoldt was one of two St Kilda players whose naked photographs were published without their consent by a 17-year-old girl on social networking site Facebook.
St Kilda have taken legal action against the girl over the publication of photos of Riewoldt and partially-clothed team-mate Zac Dawson, and a separate image of Nick Dal Santo which were posted on the internet.
