Lyon dismisses Jones' injury reports
St Kilda coach Ross Lyon has dismissed reports Clint Jones has a broken foot, declaring the tagger a certain starter for Saturday's AFL grand final replay against Collingwood at the MCG.
But Lyon confirmed ruckman Michael Gardiner would miss the game due to the hamstring injury he sustained last week.
Lyon was flabbergasted by reports that Jones was in doubt, claiming he almost fell off his chair when he read the reports.
"I can guarantee you this, Clint Jones doesn't have a broken foot otherwise he wouldn't be playing."
Lyon described Gardiner's omission as heartbreaking, saying the former Eagle had been such an important part of the group.
Ben McEvoy and Rhys Stanley are the front-runners to replace Gardiner.
