Rising Swans midfield star Kieren Jack reckons the AFL's money on poaching rugby league stars Israel Folau and Karmichael Hunt has been well spent.

Jack, whose father Garry was one of NSW and Australia's greatest rugby league fullbacks, came through the Pennant Hills Australian Rules club in north-western Sydney.

With Greater Western Sydney entering the AFL in 2012 and his knowledge of the area, Jack believed the big dollars spent on attracting Folau to GWS was smart strategy.

"My manager (David Riolo) is the manager of the two guys (Hunt and Folau) that have come across, so he's informed me what's going on," Jack told reporters in Sydney on Friday.

"I think it's great. I think it's money well spent by the AFL.

"If you talk to people in western Sydney, they wouldn't know who Gary Ablett and Chris Judd is, but they certainly know who Israel Folau is.

"It's got people talking, we are all talking about it, you blokes (the media) are all talking about it, I think it's money well spent."

But Jack couldn't see too many other league players switching to Australian Rules.

"I think it's going to be those really great athlete types, I think Greg Inglis might have expressed interest, I don't think there's too many others.

"They are the sort of freak athletes that can run and jump and that sort of thing that you need in AFL."

Asked whether Riolo could also add a couple of noughts to his next contract, a laughing Jack said: "I don't know, but I'm real happy here and loving the Swans and don't want to go anywhere else."

He certainly wasn't interested in moving across town to GWS.

"This is the club that I've supported since I was a kid, they (GWS) are the enemy."

Jack, who turns 23 on Monday, has emerged this season as one of the AFL's most improved midfielders, adding an attacking and goalkicking side to his established tagging abilities.
