Saracens win Wembley thriller to go top
Saracens stormed back to the top of the English Premiership as they overturned a second half deficit to beat Worcester 25-20 at Wembley on Saturday.
Sarries were heading for a third consecutive league defeat when they conceded a penalty try to go 20-12 behind in the 47th minute.
They were also down to 14 men by that stage following Carlos Nieto's sin-binning.
But Saracens mounted an impressive fight-back in front of 40,163 fans at the home of English football, with fly-half Glen Jackson finishing with six successful penalties from seven attempts while also converting Neil de Kock's 57th minute try.
It was Saracens' third win of the season at Wembley after previous wins over Northampton and world champions South Africa there, but Leicester can reclaim top spot if they beat Leeds on Sunday.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Northampton moved ahead of previous leaders Leicester into second place with a 25-13 victory over Newcastle.
Chris Ashton grabbed two tries as the Saints won an entertaining match at Franklin's Gardens. Lee Dickson also crossed for the hosts, while Stephen Myler kicked seven points. Newcastle's only try came courtesy of Rob Vickers.
In the day's other game, Gloucester got back on track with a 46-6 thrashing of Harlequins.
Former England wing James Simpson-Daniel got a hat-trick of tries for Gloucester, while Lesley Vainikolo, Tim Molenaar and Tom Voyce got the hosts' other tries. Nick Evans booted two penalties on a miserable day for Quins.
