Barnes at five-eighth for Waratahs trial
Berrick Barnes looks certain to start the Super 14 rugby competition as the NSW Waratahs' five eighth after securing that spot for the final trial match against the Brumbies.
Barnes retains the No.10 shirt for his second match with his new team in what's likely to be a fierce test of the two strongest Australian squads in Canberra on Thursday. This is ahead of the season start next week.
Other five eighth option Daniel Halangahu was named at inside centre.
Fellow Wallabies Benn Robinson, Dean Mumm and Lachie Turner have been named in the starting line-up for their first outings in 2010, while reserve backrower Ben Mowen will play his first match in almost six months after recovering from knee surgery.
Wallabies winger Drew Mitchell is still recovering from a hamstring injury which ruled him out of last Saturday's big win over the Fiji Warriors but is expected to be fit for the opening round of the Super 14.
