Pendlebury back at training with Magpies
Collingwood vice-captain Scott Pendlebury was back in full training at the AFL club on Monday after a weekend bashing left him concussed and bloodied.
The 21-year-old midfielder was left with facial cuts and damage to his teeth after the incident early on Sunday morning at Lakes Entrance in Victoria's Gippsland.
It is understood Pendlebury was struck from behind after a night out with his brother and some friends.
A 20-year-old Lakes Entrance man will face Bairnsdale Magistrates Court in March next year on assault charges.
"It was good to put the weekend behind me, get back into the first session after returning from Arizona, and move forward," Pendlebury told the club website.
"I felt good and I got through the whole session.
"Now I just want to focus on training up until Christmas, and then having a break, before getting back into it in 2010."
Pendlebury returned on Wednesday from a club high-altitude training camp in Arizona.
He was taken to Bairnsdale hospital after the incident, which the Magpies say was unprovoked, and was released on Sunday afternoon.
