Sheens keeps faith in struggling Tigers
Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens says his players are not yet under notice despite tasting defeat in their last four NRL matches.
Sheens has made just two changes to his side for Friday's clash with Penrith at Leichhardt with captain Robbie Farah to return after NSW State of Origin duty allowing John Morris to return to five-eighth.
However, the Tigers saw young centre Peni Tagive join an ever-growing injury list after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's 14-0 defeat by the Warriors in Auckland forcing Sheens to move Blake Ayshford back into the centres.
Sheens admitted his side need to start finding some winning form but denied that wholesale changes will be needed to rediscover a winning formula.
"The basis of the side has played for a month and we've contested the last month of footy without any success but a win is just around the corner," Sheens said.
"There is a certain amount of pressure because the more you lose the pressure builds.
"In our last six games we have won two and lost four ... but our for and against hasn't blown out we haven't given up 40 points .. but we need to convert half chances into tries."
Sheens is still without Keith Galloway (knee) and centre pairing Chris Lawrence (ankle) and Dean Collis (wrist).
Brisbane, who have six players on duty at Etihad Stadium for Origin, have named a nine-man bench ahead of the trip to Leichhardt.
Sydney Roosters welcome back skipper Craig Fitzgibbon from injury as they look to end a run of four successive defeats against Manly at Brookvale on Saturday.
Coach Brad Fittler has ditched his disastrous plan to move Braith Anasta to fullback with Sam Perrett taking over in the No.1 jumper and Sisa Waqa coming in for Jordan Tansey who drops to the bench.
Cronulla have named Paul Gallen in their side to face the Warriors at Toyota Park on Sunday in what will be his first game since resigning as captain.
Coach Ricky Stuart will keep faith with the young team that beat Parramatta last week with Scott Porter keeping his place at halfback.
Parramatta have included Nathan Hindmarsh in their side to face Newcastle on Sunday despite the former Test and NSW star missing most of the second half against the Sharks last week with a corked bicep.
Daniel Anderson has also kept faith with rookie five-eighth Daniel Mortimer after an encouraging debut last Saturday.
Knights coach Brian Smith has included Steve Simpson after he missed last week's win over the Bulldogs with a leg injury.
St George Illawarra, will be back to full strength for the visit to the Gold Coast on Monday with all of their Origin players back in the side alongside Matt Cooper who has recovered from a calf injury.
All of the players involved in Wednesday's State of Origin opener in Melbourne have been named in their respective club sides line-ups.
