Carlton welcome back Setanta
Key position player Setanta O'hAilpin has officially been welcomed back at AFL club Carlton, less than a fortnight after his brain snap.
O'hAilpin's temper boiled over during an intra-club game 12 days ago when he punched and kicked team-mate Cameron Cloke.
The AFL banned him for four matches and the Blues suspended him indefinitely.
Coach Brett Ratten indicated last Sunday that O'hAilpin would soon be allowed back at the club.
O'hAilpin spoke to his team-mates on Tuesday before training.
"Setanta was invited to return to the club and resume training with his team-mates following further discussions with the coaching staff and the playing group and a clearance from our sports psychologist," said Carlton chief executive Greg Swann.
"There has been much said about what was an unacceptable incident and the matter has been dealt with by the AFL in regards to a suspension from playing."
O'hAilpin had trained with Carlton's VFL affiliates the Northern Bullants while suspended from the Blues.
The Irishman will continue to have counselling with the club psychologist.
