Aitken named hooker, Manu on bench
Melbourne utility Russell Aitken has been named hooker for Friday night's NRL preliminary final against Cronulla in place of suspended captain Cameron Smith.
Aitken was listed as hooker on the team sheets but there is still speculation he will play in the centres with veteran Matt Geyer to play at dummy half.
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has also dropped Sika Manu to the bench with former Test prop Antonio Kaufusi promoted to the starting line-up.
Cronulla coach Ricky Stuart has made no changes to the 17-man team he named on Tuesday.
