Bombers' Hille cleared of spitting claim
The AFL have cleared Essendon ruckman David Hille of spitting on a member of the public during Sunday's match against Carlton at the MCG.
The league conducted an investigation after the Bombers received a complaint that Hille spat on a spectator during the final quarter of the game.
AFL investigations officer Graeme McDonald interviewed both Hille and the complainant, as well as other spectators and Essendon and Carlton staff.
He also reviewed video footage of the incident.
McDonald found that Hille spat while he was near the complainant, but there was not evidence to support the claim that he spat directly at or on the person.
