Confident Waratahs fly out for final
The NSW Waratahs are in a confident mood flying to Christchurch in pursuit of their first Super 14 rugby title.
The Waratahs take on the six-time champion Crusaders in the final on Saturday night, having won just once in eight previous trips to AMI Stadium.
Star winger Lote Tuqiri admits tackling the Crusaders on their home patch is probably the toughest road assignment in provincial rugby anywhere in the world.
But Tuqiri says the Waratahs are confident and like their chances of returning with the trophy.
Coach Ewen McKenzie will name his team for the match on Thursday and has taken a 24-man squad across the Tasman on Wednesday.
