No pressure on Demons: Davey
Aaron Davey made a welcome return to form for Melbourne last weekend.
And the livewire forward sees no reason why the club can't also turn around a dismal start to the AFL season.
Melbourne prop up the ladder with an 0-4 win-loss record and a percentage of 50 heading into Sunday's clash with Carlton, who broke their duck last weekend against Collingwood.
Davey claims the mood at Melbourne remains upbeat despite the side's inability to translate into action new coach Dean Bailey's repetitive calls for a competitive performance.
"It's been a tough four weeks but the feeling around the club is still the same, it hasn't changed," Davey said.
"And I think the boys know that we're not that far off from a win so we've just got to keep being the way we are and keep moving on week by week.
"We haven't got anyone walking around with their heads down sulking.
"The main thing we've got to keep concentrating on is our positiveness and keep generating that excitement every week at the club."
After falling by a total of 199 points in their opening two games, the Demons were much more competitive in round three against Geelong, before another disappointing showing against North Melbourne last weekend.
"We all got a big positive out of the Geelong game so hopefully that steers us in the right direction," said Davey.
"Everyone's seen our improvement against Geelong and we can benefit from that."
But he has no idea why Melbourne is performing so badly this year.
"I'm not too sure. I think it's just confidence. It's a tricky one, blokes aren't just playing to their best," he said.
"I'm sure once we get ourselves up and firing and get that win, things will start going well from there."
"I look at this week as a real good challenge for us, I feel as if there's really no pressure on us," added Davey, who was the Demons' best in the 48-point loss to North.
"This is a great opportunity to get a bit of respect back, we can't wait to play against Carlton on Sunday."
