Cowboys won't complain about ref
Simmering North Queensland Cowboys coach Graham Murray has ruled out taking any further action after his side's controversial National Rugby League loss to the New Zealand Warriors.
Murray was fuming over several key decisions by referee Matt Cecchin in a game where the Warriors squeezed home 30-24.
The Cowboys mentor was far from happy over a decision to award Warriors halfback Stacey Jones a 49th minute try when video replays indicated the Kiwi playmaker was caught short.
He was also upset with Cecchin ruling NQ rake Leigh McWilliams had lost the ball metres short of the home side's line in the dying minutes when replays showed the ball had been stripped.
But Murray has ruled out complaining further to NRL referees coach Robert Finch and only wanted to concentrate on the Cowboys' must-win round seven clash against Melbourne at Townsville on Saturday.
"That's it, the decision is done. We've got Melbourne this week," Murray said.
Finch said he accepted the rake ruling was incorrect but backed Cecchin's judgement.
"Graham's left a message but I haven't got back to him, I probably will tomorrow morning but I speak to Graham every week - if he has any concerns we will have a chat tomorrow," he said.
"The referee made a decision on the evidence in front of him - he didn't have a slow motion camera.
"I am the first to admit they are not going to get them all right - it's as simple as that.
