Irani could be charged under ICC code of conduct
English cricketer Ronnie Irani threw water at an abusive fan during the one-day cricket final against Australia at the MCG.
Irani, who has a black belt in kickboxing, argued with the fan at the change of innings and could be charged under cricket's code of conduct.
It is understood four fans were ejected from the MCG members' area for abusive behaviour.
The fan had apparently heckled Irani late in the Australian innings while he fielded at fine leg.
Irani then walked over to the fence at the end of the innings and came within a metre of one fan, who was being restrained by a security guard, before throwing water at him.
