England has point to prove: Strauss
England opener Andrew Strauss says the tourists still have a point to prove this Ashes series and are not yet resigned to losing hold of the trophy.
England took great confidence out of the drawn two-day match against Western Australia over the weekend, when the tourists' bowlers performed admirably and then Strauss and Alastair Cook posted a century opening stand.
Strauss said they were still determined to fight back this series, starting with the third Test at the WACA Ground from Thursday.
"There's a lot of determination in the camp," he said.
"There's a lot of guys who feel like they've got a point to prove this series because they haven't played well. We've got three games left to do it.
"We knew it was going to be tough at the start of the series.
"It's a little bit tougher now. But we've got every intention of playing the sort of cricket we need to play in these last three games."
England's players won't train on Monday, but Australia's will.
The Australians arrived in Perth on Sunday and had a team meeting on Sunday night.
That get-together gave the uncapped Adam Voges a chance to get to know his new squad mates a little bit better.
Voges and allrounder Andrew Symonds are competing to play in the third Test following the retirement of Damien Martyn.
