Henry, Lenton face off in 100m freestyle
Jodie Henry and Libby Lenton face off in the latest instalment of their 100m freestyle rivalry at the world championship trials in Brisbane on Friday night.
Lenton, who has gained the upper hand over the triple Olympic champion in the glamour event this year, has been out of sorts this week at Chandler Aquatic Centre.
She was chased down by Jess Schipper in the 100m butterfly and missed out on a 200m freestyle berth at next year's Melbourne world championships by placing third in the four-lap event.
Henry (54.10 seconds) is in better shape than at this year's Commonwealth Games and posted the fastest qualifying time ahead of Lenton (54.27) on Thursday night.
The other highlight will be Leisel Jones racing against the clock in the 200m breaststroke.
Her world mark is 2min 20.54sec and her record assault is one of the few remaining chances of a world record falling this week.
The other finals are the men's 200m backstroke and men's 200m breaststroke.
Veteran Michael Klim will continue his bid to make the worlds in the 100m butterfly heats Friday morning after finishing fifth in Thursday night's 100m freestyle.
