Hodge banned from national swim squad
Australia's highest profile swimming coach Greg Hodge has been banned from contact with national swimming squads while stalking allegations against him are investigated.
Australian Swimming Incorporated (ASI) chief executive officer Glenn Tasker said Mr Hodge would be restricted to duties not involving athletes or coaches until an investigation was completed.
The decision follows a meeting of the ASI board on Tuesday.
"ASI has decided to restrict Greg Hodge to operational duties which require no contact with members of Australian swimming squads while this matter is being investigated," Mr Tasker said.
"Greg is working for us in his usual capacity doing his planning activities and logistical aspects, of which there are very many."
Mr Hodge, Australian Swimming's high performance director, is responsible for the team in the lead-up to next year's Athens Olympics.
But Mr Tasker suggested the decision to ban Mr Hodge from contact with athletes or coaches for the time being was unlikely to affect team preparations for Athens.
"Greg's role is very heavily a planning role," he said.
"Greg is not a hands-on coach. He does not have contact with athletes on a daily basis.
"We have got a network of coaches out in the field, preparing athletes for various swim meets.
