Williams in World Cup doubt
All Blacks lock Ali Williams is in doubt for the rugby World Cup starting next month in Australia, according to Sky Television.
He has a foot injury and underwent a scan which cleared him of a suspected stress fracture in the foot, Sky's Sport 365 program reports.
The seriousness of the injury is unclear and it is not known when the injury occurred or whether it will prevent him from taking his place at the World Cup starting in Sydney on October 10.
All Blacks coach John Mitchell would not comment, saying only that Williams was to assemble with the All Blacks on Tuesday.
Aucklander Williams, 22, is one of three specialist locks named in New Zealand's 30-strong World Cup squad.
The All Blacks are due to assemble in Nelson on Tuesday as they continue a series of training camps around New Zealand before leaving for Australia.
