Bellamy admits Storm lacks experience
Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has admitted on the eve of the National Rugby League finals series that a question mark hovers over some of his players' ability to handle the occasion.
The Storm boast only five players with finals experience, including 1999 premiership winners Marcus Bai, Matt Geyer, Stephen Kearney and Danny Williams.
But they also have a handful of NRL rookies in Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Matt King as well as several players, including halfback Matt Orford, who have never played in the finals.
"We just have to go out there and play to our capability," Bellamy said.
"We haven't got much finals experience in this team.
"We have only got five guys who have ever played in finals before.
"So there's a big question mark there.
"Hopefully the lack of experience, we might be able to make it up with enthusiasm."
The Storm will certainly go into the match with form on their side.
They have beaten Canberra twice already this season, including an 18-8 win over the Raiders in round 17 at Canberra Stadium.
