Hagan to talk to fired up Webb
Queensland coach Michael Hagan plans to talk with fired up forward Carl Webb following his inflammatory comments in the lead up to Wednesday's high pressure Origin rugby league clash in Sydney.
Webb delivered a personal invitation for the NSW forwards to come and get him after he launched a one man attack on NSW forward Luke Bailey in Origin I in Brisbane last month.
His invitation for the Blues to "bring it on" received massive media coverage on Thursday and while Hagan had no problem with Webb's sentiments, he wants to ensure Webb doesn't allow the huge occasion of Origin II to get the better of him.
"We'll have an opportunity to talk to him during the week and he knows he has to get his head around what he needs to do," said Hagan.
"He'll be fine."
Hagan said Webb was always going to have to defend his aggression towards Bailey.
"Carl is a fairly explosive type player and I think we just need to get him thinking about his job and what he needs to do," said Hagan, after the Queensland team trained at ANZ Stadium and attended a 25-year Carbine Club lunch at City Tattersalls.
"I don't think Carl really needs to enter in that stuff too much.
"I think NSW will be full of fire on Wednesday regardless of what Carl had to say.
"It's going to be a hell of a game by virtue that if they lose the game they lose series.
