Former top-ranked tennis players Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt will marry next February in Australia, the Belgian tennis star announced on Thursday, ending months of speculation.

"The official ceremony will be in Australia. Shortly afterward, there will be a celebration for close family and friends in Belgium," Clijsters said on her website.

The party in Belgium will be in an ornate castle close to her home in Bree, 100 kilometres east of Brussels.

Clijsters was injured for most of the season while Hewitt has been in excellent form recently, reaching the final of the US Open last week, where he lost to Roger Federer.

Hewitt and Clijsters got engaged last year.
