Bolton expected to miss Dockers clash
In-form Sydney midfielder Jude Bolton is set to miss Sunday's big AFL clash against Fremantle as he recovers from a knee injury.
Bolton was a late withdrawal from Saturday night's 70-point win over Gold Coast when he hurt the knee during the warm up.
The 31-year-old had good news on Monday, scan results showed only minor bone bruising and no structural damage.
But coach John Longmire said Bolton was in doubt for the SCG clash.
Sydney are sixth, a game and a half behind in-form West Coast, while Fremantle are another half a game further behind in seventh place.
"His knee's still a little bit sore so he's no certainty to play this week," Longmire said.
"At 31 your knees aren't going to be like what they were like at 21, but he was ready to play and trained last Thursday.
Longmire said while the outlook was good for Bolton, the onballer would not appreciate having to miss another game.
"It's always hard to stop Jude Bolton playing," Longmire said.
"I thought when he pulled out in the warm-up he might have had a broken leg.
"It will be tough for him to sit in the stands again.
"I wouldn't want to be his wife, his wife mustn't be too happy with him when he's in this sort of mood and missing games."
