Dan Carter passes Wilkinson record
New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter broke the record for rugby union Test points when he kicked his third penalty in a Tri-Nations Test against South Africa on Saturday.
The successful kick 29 minutes into the first half at Soccer City raised his tally to 1113 points - two more than England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson, who plays his French club Toulon.
Carter had a mixed first half for the All Blacks, kicking three penalties but missing another and a conversion as the Springboks led 16-14 at half-time before a sell-out 88,791 crowd.
