EPL season linked to England's form: NZ
New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen thinks England's poor performance at the World Cup is connected to the tough Premier League schedule.
Nelsen plays for Blackburn in England and said the Premier League is "mentally and physically the hardest league in the world."
England were booed off the pitch after a 0-0 draw with Algeria on Friday, which followed a 1-1 draw with the United States.
Players like Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard have looked sluggish and Nelsen said tiredness likely played a part.
Nelsen said that "the English players won't admit it, they'll say it's a World Cup and they're up for it, but they play so many games, it's incredible."
