Kangaroos kids up to task, says coach
North Melbourne coach Brad Scott believes his developing young midfield is up to the task of matching stoppage kings Sydney in their AFL clash at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The Kangaroos are building a promising midfield, with Andrew Swallow, Liam Anthony and the emerging Ryan Bastinac all impressing in the club's opening win of the season against West Coast.
Scott admits they will have to lift even further against an experienced Swans midfield which loves to throttle opposition sides at stoppages and centre clearances.
"They've got a long list of very strong midfielders and it's a very good test for our young midfielders," Scott said on Friday.
"We're throwing them in and we're giving them great opportunities to play those roles, and they're talented players, so we expect them to perform."
The Swans have won two of their first three matches after adding several experienced players to their list in the off-season, and are shaping as likely finals contenders.
