Broncos travel in style in finals quest
Brisbane's players will have no travel excuses for not performing against North Queensland in Friday's NRL clash after flying to Townsville in style on a private jet on Thursday.
The club's corporate hospitality client Strategic Airlines has made the jet available to the Broncos and their sponsors, even painting its side with "Let's Go Broncos".
Strategic Airlines, which carries Australian troops to Afghanistan, will fly the Broncos home again on Saturday - and will be hoping they have qualified for an 18th straight finals campaign.
They could have been in a bit of trouble, however, if coach Ivan Henjak had been serious when he suggested forward Sam Thaiday, who will play his 100th game for the club, would be flying the 229-seat Airbus A330 jet.
When it was suggested captain Darren Lockyer would take the flight controls, Henjak quipped: "I think Sam (Thaiday) might be.
"We'll all have our Biggles hats on".
