Beale to join Waratahs in Auckland
NSW Waratahs playmaker Kurtley Beale will join his teammates in Auckland and take his place on the bench for Friday's Super 14 clash with the Blues.
Beale, who was relegated to the Waratahs reserves this week after some inconsistent performances at five-eighth, did not fly to New Zealand with the side on Wednesday after coming down with a bout of tonsilitis.
The 20-year-old was in doubt for the crucial match, in which Daniel Halangahu will wear the No.10 jersey for NSW, but flew to Auckland on Thursday.
"We felt we wanted to treat him while he was in Sydney and give him an extra 24 hours rest rather than trying to make him travel," Waratahs coach Chris Hickey told AAP.
"He's been given some medication and he said he feels much improved and he was very keen to come over and be part of the squad."
Captain Phil Waugh (leg) made it through Thursday's final training session.
