Last-minute Kelleher seals Toulouse win
Former All Blacks scrum-half Byron Kelleher scored a last-minute try to give Toulouse a battling 18-12 victory over Bourgoin on Friday and sole possession of top spot in the French Top 14 championship.
For Bourgoin it was their fifth home defeat of the season and their cause wasn't helped by having their Kiwi backrow forward Tim Cowley stretchered off in the 23rd minute of the match with an injury.
The home side were 3-0 ahead when the New Zealander left the field and Toulouse took advantage to score the opening try from winger Yves Donguy which was converted by Frederic Michalak for a 7-3 lead.
Michalak added a penalty but fly-half Benjamin Boyet kept Bourgoin in touch with a penalty and a drop goal to trail 10-9 at the break.
Another drop goal in the 62nd minute by Florian Denos allowed the struggling side to nip 12-10 ahead but Gaffie du Toit then hit the target four minutes later to restore Toulouse's lead at 13-12.
Michalak was then sin-binned for dangerous play but Toulouse made sure their one-man shortage wasn't a handicap when Kelleher went over in the final minute for a decisive try.
Stade Francais put an end to their dismal run of three successive defeats with a 19-12 home win over Castres.
Fullback Djibril Camara scored the only try of the game in the 16th minute for the Paris side.
