Knights upset Roosters at Gosford
The Knights trailed 20-12 at halftime but piled on 22 unanswered points in the second half to snap a three game losing streak and inflict the Roosters' first loss in as many games.
Two late tries to five-eighth Chris Bailey and a stunning last-minute 60-metre try to prop Danny Wicks sealed the result after winger Cooper Vuna had put the Knights back in the game early in the second half.
The Roosters had launched an aerial assault in the first half with three of their four tries coming from kicks by halves Braith Anasta and Mitchell Pearce.
But the Knights lifted after halftime and came home over the top of a tiring Roosters side who were playing a home game at the Central Coast venue.
Vuna crossed out wide with 10 on the clock and Bailey scored twice under the posts the blow the Roosters away before Wicks busted the Roosters defence to sprint away and score an unlikely try under the posts.
Roosters skipper Craig Fitzgibbon scored the opening try in the sixth minute after Knights winger Cooper Vuna failed to defuse a cross-field Mitchell Pearce bomb.
But the Knights hit back five minutes later when prop Jesse Royal crashed over from close range after some quick thinking at dummy half from Danny Buderus.
A Chris Houston mistake allowed the Roosters to get back in front in the 18th minute however, with fullback Sam Perrett flicked a clever ball for Roberts to crash over for his third of the season.
The lead blew out again when Iosia Soliola leapt over his opposite Adam MacDougall and plucked a cross-field Braith Anasta kick from nowhere to score under the posts.
But the Knights hit back in the 26th when backrower Cory Paterson scooped up the ball after an attempted Roberts intercept and strolled over out wide.
The Roosters however extended their lead again to eight points before halftime with another try coming from Braith Anasta's boot, this time winger Kenny-Dowall getting on the end of it for his fifth try of the season.
A minor sour note from the win for the Knights came with hooker Danny Buderus placed on report for an elbow to the head of Perrett in the second half.
